NOVA WEST ISLAND: Out & About in the Community

K. Greenfield

Members of the Board of Directors represented NOVA West Island at a recent Welcome Wagon event in Dorval showcasing companies and community groups of interest to residents 55+. Welcome Wagon Coordinator Elizabeth Sanderson greeted guests at this free information day where they had an opportunity to meet and speak with sponsors and representatives from West Island businesses and non-profit community organizations to learn more about the products and services they offer.

The day-long session featured demonstrations, music, prize draws, and “goody bags” containing fliers and samples from the various exhibitors. The event was well attended with a constant stream of people stopping by participants’ tables; visitors to the NOVA kiosk obtained information and literature about the numerous NOVA programs such as Home Support, Palliative Care and Oncology, Bereavement groups, Adult Day Centres, Foot Care clinics, and Thrift Shops.
