~ DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, VERBAL ABUSE ~

Domestic Violence is prevalent throughout the world. Globally, thirty five percent of women experience or have experienced sexual or physical violence in their lives. Women in Canada certainly are no exception. Far too many woman and children live with fear in their day to day lives.

Men are subject to violence but at a much smaller percentage, and it is generally not domestic violence. In other words, the violence they may experience is generated from sources outside their marriage or relationships.

Children and teens who witness or experience domestic violence in their homes and do not receive treatment are often scarred for life. This also applies to their mothers.

Abuse is any behaviour that is used to gain and/or maintain power and control over another person. Abuse is never the fault of the victim.
